Death Lies Beneath - DI Andy Horton number eight - in paperback and audio book

Death Lies Beneath - DI Andy Horton number eight in the seriesDeath Lies Beneath, the eighth in the popular series of British Police Procedural crime novels featuring the flawed and rugged detective, DI Andy Horton, by British crime author, Pauline Rowson, is to be published in paperback and as an unabridged audio book in February by Isis Publishing.

Death Lies Beneath has already been published in hardcover and as an e book in the UK, Commonwealth and the USA by Severn House, where it has received rave reviews.

Acclaimed by Kirkus Reviews as a  "A treat for fans of the puzzle-box mystery," Pauline Rowson has been hailed as "redefining the genre of police drama” by setting it against the atmospheric backdrop of the ever changing sea. Her cops are tough yet fallible.

With ten in the series and the eleventh to be published in April 2014, the DI Andy Horton series of crime novels has been credited as having all the ingredients of a riveting read: compelling crimes, complex past history, a tough work environment, romantic entanglements and political intrigue played out against the dramatic and powerfully evocative British marine landscape of Portsmouth and the Solent.

Of Death Lies Beneath Publishers Weekly says, "Rowson’s solid eighth police procedural featuring Det. Insp. Andy Horton contains convincing characters and a coherent plot to bolster a crafty solution to the crimes."

Death Lies Beneath is also published as an unabridged audio book read by Gordon Griffin and published by Isis Publishing.

In Death Lies Beneath, a body found on a rotting boat being salvaged in Portsmouth Harbour throws Horton into a complex and frustrating investigation. As the tension mounts to solve the case, Horton receives a chilling message; time, it seems, is also running out for him personally…

"Pauline Rowson is an excellent constructor of false trails and DEATH LIES BENEATH is no exception. Carefully plotted, Andy Horton is a likeable if flawed character." Mysteries in Paradise
