Crime author Pauline Rowson to be quizzed on panel at CSI Southampton

Crime author Pauline Rowson is to be quizzed about her crime writing and her popular crime novels featuring the flawed and rugged DI Andy Horton on a panel at CSI Southampton on 24 October at Southampton City Library where she will be joined by fellow crime author Natasha Cooper and crime experts from Hampshire Police

Crime Author Pauline Rowson on the Panel at CSI Winchester The morning session kicks off with a panel where crime authors Pauline Rowson and Natasha Cooper will be debating with crime scene experts from Hampshire Police, Carolyn Lovell Head of Crime Scene Investigation Management, and Jane Aston Fingerprint Bureau Supervisor, just how crime fiction differs from crime fact. There will also be the chance for you to ask your questions of the panel and to have your fingerprints pressed into a keep-sake key ring to take away.

In the afternoon crime author Peter Lovesey will discuss how a decent law abiding man can think up 200 ways of murdering people, followed by crime authors Jessie Keane and Sue Wilkins in discussion with Penny Legg on how they create their crime novels.There‚Äôll be book signings and the chance to mingle with both crime authors and crime experts.

Pauline Rowson is the brains behind CSI Portsmouth which began in 2000 and is an annual event run by Portsmouth City Library Service as part of their annual Portsmouth Bookfest. It brings together the cream of crime authors and crime experts to debate crime fiction and crime fact. The idea has spawned several CSI events across the country including CSI Newcastle, CSI Winchester and CSI Basingstoke.  The next CSI Portsmouth will be held on Saturday 5 March 2016.

Pauline Rowson is author of the popular marine mystery crime series featuring the enigmatic Portsmouth detective DI Andy Horton  published by Severn House. The DI Andy Horton crime novels have recently been optioned by top UK production company, Lime Pictures, who are seeking to bring the enigmatic sailing detective to the TV screens.

She is also author of a new crime series featuring former Royal Marine Commando, Special Boat Services Officer, Art Marvik. Silent Running was published in the UK in March 2015 and in the USA in September 2015. It has been hailed in the US by Booklist as 'A tense, terrifying thrill ride that twists and turns with dizzying speed.'

CSI Southampton is being held at the Northguild Lecture Theatre, Central Library, Civic Centre, S014 7LW from 10:00am to 5.00pm.

Tickets cost £18.00 for the day which includes a £4 reduction in the price of a book. A booking fee applies. Tickets for CSI Southampton
