DI Andy Horton, Fatal Catch, now also published in Large Print


Fatal Catch, a DI Andy Horton Mystery by Pauline RowsonFatal Catch the twelfth in the popular DI Andy Horton crime series by Pauline Rowson has now also been published in Large Print as well as in paperback (28 October 2016) by Severn House Publishers.  It is already available in hardcover and as an ebook and on Amazon Kindle and Kobo.

Published in the UK, the USA and the Commonwealth, Fatal Catch has been hailed by Publishers Weekly as having "Plenty of red herrings and a surprising culprit." Adding, "Series fans will appreciate additional clues about the unsolved murder of Horton’s mother, Jennifer, more than 30 years earlier."


The DI Andy Horton crime novels are set against the atmospheric backdrop of the sea in the Solent area of Portsmouth and the Isle of Wight on the South Coast of England where Pauline Rowson lives. The Horton murder mystery novels have been hailed as "compelling," "multi-layered and complex" "a great read for mystery lovers".

Rowson's flawed and rugged detective  has been described by US reviewer Booklist as " an especially good series hero, a likeable fellow with plenty of street smarts and the requisite personal baggage – an abrasive supervisor and an antagonistic soon-to-be ex-wife. Procedural fans who haven’t already read Rowson should be encouraged to do so in the strongest possible terms."

In Fatal Catch, Horton is called out to examine a gruesome find by two fishermen: a human hand.Soon Horton finds himself immersed in a complex case where everyone has a reason to lie and no one is who they seem. Assailed by doubts both in his personal and professional life,Horton desperately tries to keep his emotional feelings under control and his focus on his work. His instincts tell him to trust no one and believe nothing; he’s not sure though whether this time he’ll succeed.

The DI Andy Horton series has been optioned by top UK television production company Lime Pictures, makers of Channel 4's Hollyoaks,who are seeking to bring the enigmatic sailing detective to the television screens. Translated into several languages Rowson's crime novels have received critical acclaim both in the USA and the UK.

Pauline Rowson is author of twelve novels in the DI Andy Horton series, two standalone crime novels and two in a new crime series, featuring former Royal Marine commando, SBS officer Art Marvik. Silent Running was published by Severn House in 2015 and thee second in the Art Marvik marine crime series, Dangerous Cargo, was published in spring 2016.
