Dropped into Newhaven Library for a quick read of Art Marvik


Pauline Rowson at Newhaven Marina with Art Marvik marine crime novel, Silent RunningWhile on location research for the third Art Marvik marine crime novel I dropped into Newhaven Library in East Sussex and was delighted to learn from the library staff that both the Art Marvik and DI Andy Horton crime novels are enjoyed by readers of Newhaven Library.

I was on location research for the third in the series featuring former Royal Marine Commando, Art Marvik, now working undercover on investigations for the National Intelligence Marine Squad (NIMS).

Portsmouth Historic Dockyard setting for DI Andy Horton novel, Undercurrent

Undercurrent, the ninth in the DI Andy Horton marine series of police procedurals, which is now out as an unabridged audio book,  begins with a body found in Portsmouth Historic Dockyard, late at night, lying in the bottom of No. 1 Dock where the historic M33 Monitor is situated. 

At the time of writing this novel the M33 Monitor was not open to the public but since then the Heritage Lottery Fund awarded £1.75 million to the National Museum of  the Royal Navy to restore and open it to visitors for the first time in its  history.  This gallant little ship, launched in May 1915, is the  sole remaining British veteran of that year’s Gallipoli Campaign.  I decided it would be the perfect place to put a body!

Undercurrent now out as an unabridged audio book - Watch the book trailer

Undercurrent, the ninth in the DI Andy Horton crime series is now available as an unabridged audio book narrated by Gordon Griffin.  Undercurrent is also available in paperback and as an ebook.  It is set against the backdrop of the sea in Portsmouth on the South Coast of England.  In this crime novel DI Horton has a new mystery to solve as well as continuing his search for the truth surrounding the disappearance of his mother over thirty years ago.

A very hectic London Book Fair


Pauline Rowson outside Olympia at the London Book Fair 2016tThe London Book Fair has once again been and gone and a very busy one it was too, certainly on the Tuesday when I attended. The aisles were swarming with humanity as was London itself.  I always forget just how busy London is and how packed with tourists.

What's on in April


Undercurrent a DI Andy Horton Police Procedure April see the release of two of my crime novels in new formats, Undercurrent, the ninth in the DI Andy Horton police procedural series is to be published as an unabridged audio book on 1 April, while Silent Running, the first in the series featuring former Royal Marine Commando, Special Boat Services officer Art Marvik will be published in paperback.

Also in April, I have two television appearances and a visit to the London Book Fair
