What's on in November 2016

Fatal Catch, a DI Andy Horton Mystery by Pauline RowsonNovember sees the publication in paperback of Fatal Catch the twelfth in the DI Andy Horton crime series . It is published by Severn House and is also already available in hardcover and as an ebook, on Amazon Kindle and Kobo.

Published in the UK, the USA and the Commonwealth, Fatal Catch has been hailed by Publishers Weekly as having "Plenty of red herrings and a surprising culprit." and by the Crime Book Club as, "A great read for mystery lovers with plenty to keep you guessing until the last moment."

DI Andy Horton is a man very much defined by a tormented past, but with hopes for his future. A flawed and rugged cop whose patch is Portsmouth CID and whose investigations take him across the Solent and into the neighbouring harbours. Living on board his small yacht in Southsea Marina since his estrangement from his wife following a gross misconduct charge, the sailing detective is a man rarely at peace, unless he is on the sea or fighting crime.  Raised in children's homes after his mother abandoned him as a child he has a desperate need to belong and yet is always on the outside. Being alone is his greatest fear, yet he is alone.

The DI Andy Horton crime novels have been hailed by reviewers as "compelling," "multi-layered and complex" "a great read for mystery lovers".

In Fatal Catch Horton is called out to examine a gruesome find by two fishermen: a human hand.Soon Horton finds himself immersed in a complex case where everyone has a reason to lie and no one is who they seem. Assailed by doubts both in his personal and professional life,Horton desperately tries to keep his emotions under control and his focus on his work. His instincts tell him to trust no one and believe nothing; he’s not sure though whether this time he’ll succeed.

Pauline Rowson with DI Andy Horton, Fatal CatchNovember also sees me entertaining readers at Portchester Library, Hampshire. I'll be there on Thursday 10 November at 2pm as part of the Portchester Literary Festival where I'll be talking about my characters, how I create and develop them, how I work up my plots and research my crime novels.  It is a return visit for me as last year I was delighted to meet so many DI Andy Horton fans when I gave a talk there.

Tickets  cost £4.00.  Further details and booking information.

Also in November I will be working on the fourth in the crime series, featuring Art Marvik.
The third is with my publisher and my fingers are crossed that they like it.

The next DI Andy Horton crime novel, number thirteen in the series, is to be published in February 2017.  More on that in future blogs.
