Looking down into Birling Gap and Seven SistersIn the third in the series, Art Marvik, former Royal Marine Commando,  now undercover investigator, is surprised by a late-night summons to meet Helen Shannon, a woman he helped on his first mission. (Silent Running).

Coming into NewhavenWhen a body is found in her flat in Eastbourne, Marvik is convinced that Helen is being framed for murder. Before he has time to follow this up he is called in to investigate the disappearance in 2003 of a salvage vessel called the Mary Jo. Soon it becomes clear that Helen and others are in danger from a ruthless assassin, one who is determined to protect the secret of the Mary Jo's last voyage.

The Severn Sisters CliffsMarvik's investigations subsequently take him over the South Downs to the Birling Gap and the Seven Sisters chalk downs in his bid to track down the killer and discover the secret of the Mary Jo.
