What's on in August 2017

Pauline RowsonAugust is usually a quiet month for me because there are fewer talks and radio interviews. However this August I am delighted to be entertaining the gentlemen of  Brockenhurst Probus Club in the New Forest on the 8 August. I'll also continue writing.

I have three writing projects on the go at the moment, number fourteen and fifteen in the Inspector Andy Horton series and number four in the series featuring undercover investigator, Art Marvik.

Lost Voyage an Art Marvik Mystery by Pauline RowsonLost Voyage, the third in the Marvik mystery series, has just been published in the UK by Severn House (10 July 2017) so there will be some blog articles here and no doubt some marketing around that novel.

Marvik faces a desperate battle to save others from a ruthless assassin who will stop at nothing in order to protect the secret of the Mary Jo’s last voyage from ever being exposed.

Also in August I will be walking my local area around the harbours of Portsmouth, Langstone and Chichester and the Isle of Wight seeking inspiration for further crime novels. I might even start working on a new crime fiction series.  I have three ideas for a new fiction crime series including one set in the 1950s but am not sure which one to further develop. Hopefully my thoughts will crystallize through the remainder of the summer weeks.

August is an important time in the international sailing calendar with Cowes Week on the Isle of Wight taking place from the  29 July to the 5 August 2017.

Death Surge a DI Andy Horton crime novel Cowes Week is an event that Inspector Andy Horton will know well being a sailor (he lives on a small yacht in Southsea Marina, Portsmouth, five miles across the Solent from the Isle of Wight) and the marine police, Sergeant Elkins and PC Ripley, will also be in attendance.

In the Inspector Andy Horton crime novel Death Surge Horton is called to Cowes during the sailing regatta by Sergeant Cantelli frantic with worry because his nephew Johnnie Onslow has failed to show up to take part in the racing on one of his boss's yachts. What begins as the hunt for a missing man soon becomes the search for a ruthless killer.

Hopefully nothing like that will happen in real life!
