What's on in August?

DI Andy Horton Undercurrent and Death SurgeAugust, and the chance to feature two of my crime novels set during this month, Undercurrent and Death Surge both in the Inspector Andy Horton crime series.  August is obviously a busy month for my flawed and rugged detective with a high crime rate in his home coastal city of Portsmouth, England!

During the month of August there will be articles and extracts on both Undercurrent, (number nine) and Death Surge( number ten) in the DI Andy Horton series of currently thirteen novels, soon to be fourteen with the publication of Dead Passage in October.  Meanwhile here is brief outline of both Undercurrent and Death Surge which sees Horton solving a new mystery in each case and pursuing the personal investigations into the disappearance of his mother, Jennifer. Stayed tuned here for in depth articles on the locations, the inspiration behind the novels and extracts.

DI Andy Horton, Dead PassageAs August is traditionally holiday month it is therefore quiet for me with regards to giving talks and interviews.  That will change come the autumn with the publication of number 14 in the Inspector Andy Horton series, Dead Passage on 18 October when I have a series of talks lined up. Dead Passage will be published in paperback and as an ebook.  It is now available for pre-order from all booksellers and can be reserved at your local library.

Also in August, having finished writing number four in the Art Marvik mystery thriller series, and a new 1950 set detective novel featuring Scotland Yard detective, Inspector Alun Ryga, I am continuing to write number fifteen in the DI Andy Horton series.

Undercurrent - DI Andy Horton 9 by Pauline RowsonNaval historian Dr Douglas Spalding is found dead in Portsmouth’s Historic Dockyard.

It looks like suicide but Horton goes out on a limb to prove otherwise. Soon he's embroiled in a cover up at the highest level.

'Rowson offers up a thorny, multifaceted plot; a profusion of unusual twists; a likable yet complex hero; and plenty of fast-paced, knuckle-biting action.' Booklist USA

Death Surge, DI Andy Horton 10 by Pauline Rowson A telephone call from a frantic Sergeant Cantelli to say that his nephew is missing cuts short DI Horton’s sailing trip to France

What began as the hunt for a missing man becomes the search for a ruthless killer...

'A crisply written, cleverly plotted procedural with a nice twist.' Booklist USA

Available in paperback as an ebook, on Amazon Kindle and on Kobo and as unabridged audio books

Happy holidays and reading.
