Crime novel by British crime writer Pauline Rowson entered for crime e book award


Dead Mans wharf and inspector Horton marine mystery crime novel by pauline rowsonDead Man’s Wharf, an Inspector Andy Horton marine mystery crime novel, by International crime writer, Pauline Rowson, has been entered for the Sony Reader Crime E Book Award at CrimeFest 2010.


CrimeFest is an annual convention which draws top crime novelists, readers, editors, publishers and reviewers from around the world and gives delegates the opportunity to celebrate the genre in an informal atmosphere. Pauline Rowson will be speaking at CrimeFest, which is being held at the Bristol Royal Marriott Hotel from 20th - 23rd May 2010.


The Times has joined CrimeFest as media partner and will also be covering the Crime Writers Association (CWA) Dagger awards, which includes the CWA Dagger in the Library which Pauline Rowson was long listed for in 2008.


Dead Man’s Wharf was published in hardcover in 2009 in the UK and the USA.  On its publication in America it was given a star rated review by Kirkus and hailed as an ‘exemplary procedural.’ It is being released in paperback in the UK in February 2010 and the USA in April 2010.


Pauline Rowson is author of five Inspector Horton marine mystery crime novels: Tide of Death, which was chosen by Amazon as Best Crime Fiction book 2006, Deadly Waters, and The Suffocating Sea, which was chosen by The Book Depository as the one of the top ten ‘Best of British Crime Fiction 2009.’ Her thrillers include In Cold Daylight which was voted by the public as one of to ten novels in the World Book Day Prize 2008 and In For The Kill.


The award for best crime eBook of 2009 will be presented at the Gala Dinner at CrimeFest on 22 May. The winning author will receive a cash prize and a Reader Touch Edition. There will also be a number of Sony's Readers available as competition prizes, one of which will be running in The Times.


Another competition will be to rename the Crime eBook Award, with a Reader from Sony as the prize. Details on how to enter the competition will be announced in a CRIMEFEST newsletter in early 2010.
