The Square Tower in Portsmouth was the setting for murder and mystery as crime author Pauline Rowson entertained members of Old Portsmouth Women's Institute on Thursday 4 October 2018. Built in 1494 during the reign of Henry VII, the Square Tower, part of the ancient fortifications built to protect the rapidly expanding naval port of Portsmouth had plenty of atmosphere to add to Pauline's entertaining talk and was of significance to the audience as many of Pauline's Portsmouth based DI Andy Horton crime novels feature the fortifications including the latest in the DI Andy Horton series (14) DEAD PASSAGE.

Pauline Rowson entertained readers at Christchurch Library on Wednesday 10 October, as part of Libraries Week.  Pauline explained how locations along the south coast of England provide the inspiration for her crime novels of which there are now nineteen and how she turns these ideas into her multi-layered and gripping plots.

Murder at the Pelican Club play by Pauline Rowson

Crime author Pauline Rowson's 1940 set murder mystery play, MURDER AT THE PELICAN CLUB is to be performed by the Winterbourne Players, Bristol, England from 22 to 24 November 2018.

This brand new detective play, Murder At The Pelican Club, is an exciting 1940s murder mystery in the vein of the classic crime thrillers of the 20th century, an Agatha Christie style detective drama that has audiences guessing ‘who done it.’ Written in a serious vein but with a touch of humour, the play takes place in the Pelican Nightclub and Restaurant in November 1940.

Tickets £3.00 for patrons and £10 for non-patrons, includes supper, music and show!
