Dangerous Cargo Pauline Rowson's new marine crime novel featuring Art Marvik to be published in May 2016

Dangerous Cargo, the second in the Art Marvik marine crime seriesPauline Rowson's  new marine crime novel featuring former Royal Marine Commando, Special Boat Services Officer, Art Marvik, Dangerous Cargo, is to be published by Severn House Publishers in the UK in May 2016 and in the USA on 1 September 2016.

Dangerous Cargo is the second in the Art Marvik marine crime series, the first Silent Running was published in the UK and the USA in 2015 and  has been hailed as a  'A tense, terrifying thrill ride that twists and turns with dizzying speed.'

Pauline Rowson is also the author of the popular mystery crime series featuring the flawed and rugged Portsmouth based detective DI Andy Horton  published by Severn House. Fatal Catch, the twelfth in the Horton crime series, was published in 2015. The DI Andy Horton crime novels have been optioned by top UK production company, Lime Pictures, who are seeking to bring the enigmatic sailing detective to the TV screens.

For his second mission with the National Intelligence Marine Squad, (NIMS) Marvik is detailed to attend the funeral of a man who’d officially been declared dead fifty-five years earlier. So who is the imposter and why did he assume the name of a dead man? What’s more, why did he suddenly show up in a Dorset coastal town in 1989, hook up with a local fishing family, and after fathering a child, disappear in 1990?

When an innocent woman is killed during the course of the investigation, Marvik realizes that the stakes are much higher than he’d previously thought. As he begins to uncover a trail of deceit, corruption and murder that spans over half a century, Marvik must confront a ruthless killer who will stop at nothing to make sure that the sins of the past stay in the past.

All Pauline Rowson's crime novels are set against the backdrop of the sea. Her work has received critical acclaim in the UK, USA and Commonwealth where her novels have been hailed as "exemplary police procedurals”, "cleverly plotted,” "complex and multi-layered.”
