Pauline Rowson entertains the audience at Alton Probus with the secrets of successful crime writing

Alton Probus, Pauline Rowson on the secrets of successful crime writingContinuing my theme of looking back at my talks over the years (in the absence of them in 2020 owing to the Covid-19 pandemic) I loved giving a talk about my crime novels and crime writing to the members of Alton Probus and their wives on Friday 30 September 2016 at the Alton House Hotel in Hampshire.  My talk followed a lunch and I revealed how I plot, research and write my crime novels set on the South Coast of England.

Alton Probus, Pauline Rowson talking about her crime novelsMany DI Andy Horton fans were eager to learn more about the flawed and rugged Portsmouth detective DI Andy Horton  who lives on a small yacht in Southsea Marina and rides a Harley Davidson.  DI Andy Horton now features in fifteen crime novels.

I also talked about the Art Marvik mystery thrillers featuring former Royal Marine Commando, Marvik,  now working as an undercover investigator for the Police UK's National Intelligence Marine Squad (NIMS).

Alton Probus, Pauline Rowson explaining how she draws up plot linesMy talk was followed by a very lively Q & A session and a book signing.

The audience were lovely.  It was great  to meet  some DI Andy Horton fans and to introduce my new crime busting hero, Art Marvik to so many eager listeners and readers. My thanks to Alton Probus for inviting me to talk to them.'

I hope my talks will return in 2021 but it's looking to be the latter part of the year as Covid-19 still stalks us, sadly.  However if you would like to book me for a talk in 2021 and/or 2022 please do contact me.
