Crime author Pauline Rowson entertains Townswomen's Guild

Pauline Rowson talking about her crime novelsA blast from the past once again, this time from 2018 when I was delighted to entertain members of  the Mid Hants and Wilts Townswomen's Guild at their autumn event on Thursday 25 October 2018 at Romsey, Hampshire.  This was of course pre Covid-19 with its lock down and public and social events banned. I miss giving talks and meeting so many lovely people and I know many are missing meeting up and enjoying their social events.  Let's all hope they may resume soon. Meanwhile, here is a look back to a very enjoyable event in Romsey where I entertained a packed audience with tales of my fictional sleuths, the enigmatic DI Andy Horton who features in fifteen novels and undercover investigator, former Royal Marine Commando, Art Marvik who currently appears in three mystery thriller novels. I also have a new detective, Inspector Alun Ryga, and a new series set in 1950 - more about that below.

Pauline Rowson talking about crime writingI talked about the locations along the south coast of England that have inspired me and how they have provided me with the ideas for my multi-layered, marine-set crime novels, of which there are now twenty-one. I spoke about how I develop these ideas into fast-paced plots.

Pauline Rowson showing how she creates her charactersI also explained and demonstrated how I create my characters. Hailed in the UK, USA and Commonwealth as the "Best of British crime fiction," "A good read for mystery lovers," "gripping, compelling and full of twists and turns."

My novels have been translated into many languages and are available in paperback, as an ebook, on Amazon Kindle and as unabridged audio books.

Pauline Rowson answering a question from the audience about her crime novelsThe popular Inspector Andy Horton police procedural series is set in Portsmouth and the Isle of Wight; the Art Marvik mystery thrillers along the south coast including the Jurassic coast of Dorset and the Downs of East Sussex, Beachy Head and Cuckmere Haven.

I am also the author of two standalone thrillers, In Cold Daylight and In For The Kill.

Pauline Rowson signing copies of her crime novelsFollowing my talk there was a lively question and answer session and a book signing.

It was a pleasure to entertain  the audience and I thoroughly enjoyed meeting everyone including some very avid DI Andy Horton and Art Marvik fans.

Death in the Cove by Pauline RowsonSince this talk took place I  also have a new hero on the block, Scotland Yard's Inspector Ryga who is sent out to solve coastal crimes.  His first is on the Isle of Portland, Dorset when the body of a man in a pin-striped suit is found dead on Church Ope Cove - DEATH IN THE COVE.
