Pauline Rowson entertains audience at St Anne's Fellowship with tales of mystery

St Annes Fellowship Pauline Rowson talking about her crime novelsOn Monday 14 October 2019 I entertained members of the St Anne's Fellowship in Hampshire  with a lively talk about the inspiration behind my popular mystery crime novels set on the South Coast of England.

I am missing meeting so many lovely people and entertaining them as I know many of my fellow authors (and actors and entertainers) are because of the rules and regulations surrounding Covid-19.
I've been looking back instead over the talks I have given over the years and hoping that soon these may resume, not just for me but for everyone in the entertainment business and I know people are greatly missing attending their social meetings and get togethers.

Here at St Anne's Fellowship only a year ago I talked about how I research, plot and create my crime novels including the inspiration behind the first in a new 1950 set mystery series, DEATH IN THE COVE, introducing Scotland Yard detective, Inspector Alun Ryga.

I also talked about my crime busting fictional heroes, the flawed and rugged Portsmouth copper DI Andy Horton, (15) my undercover investigator, Art Marvik a former Royal Marine Commando (3) and my two standalone thrillers IN COLD DAYLIGHT and IN FOR THE KILL.

St Annes Fellowship Pauline Rowson on writing crime fictionI explained how locations along the south coast of England provide the inspiration for my crime novels of which there are now twenty-one and how I turn these ideas into my multi-layered and gripping plots.

Hailed in the UK, USA and Commonwealth as the "Best of British crime fiction" "A good read for mystery lovers," "gripping, compelling and full of twists and turns," my crime novels are all set against the backdrop of the ever changing sea on the south coast of England.

St Annes Fellowship Pauline Rowson writing mystery novelsI explained how I develop plot lines by creating a storyboard; how I create characters using spidergrams and how I research the police procedure and the forensic aspects of my crime novels.

Following myr talk there was a lively question and answer session and a book signing.

It was a pleasure to talk to the lovely audience.
