Pauline Rowson entertains Ems Valley U3A with tales of Murder and Mystery

Ems Valley U3A, Pauline Rowson entertains audience with crime writing Events like these sadly stopped in March 2020 because of the Covid-19 pandemic and the banning of all social gatherings. I know many people are missing them and I am missing entertaining the lovely audiences. In the meantime I am looking back at some I have conducted over the years. At this wonderful event on this day in 2016 over a hundred and thirty people listened enthralled as I spoke about how I write my crime novels set against the backdrop of the sea on the South Coast of England.

Members of Ems Valley U3A, based in the coastal Hampshire village of Emsworth, listened as I talked about my fictional heroes, the flawed and rugged sailing detective  DI Andy Horton. who features in fifteen crime novels and former Royal Marine Commando, Art Marvik  who is in four mystery thrillers.

Ems Valley U3A Pauline Rowson thrills audience with crime writingI entertained the audience with anecdotes about my crime writing, where I draw my inspiration from, how I develop plot lines and create characters.

Since this talk took place, in addition to fifteen in the Inspector Andy Horton series, there are four in the Marvik mystery thriller series and two in my 1950s set mystery series featuring Scotland Yard Inspector Ryga who is sent out to investigate baffling crimes in DEATH IN THE COVE (the Isle of Portland, Dorset) and DEATH IN THE HARBOUR ( Newhaven, East Sussex) with number three in the series DEATH IN THE NETS (Brixham, Devon) to be published in October 2021.

There are no talks for me booked this year, 2021, at the present although I have been asked if I might be available to speak later in 2021 - Covid -19 permitting - and I would be delighted to. Can't wait in fact.  I am sincerely hoping that we can soon resume these events.
