What's on in October 2015

Fatal Catch, a DI Andy Horton Mystery by Pauline RowsonOctober looks set to be a busy month and first up is that I am delighted to announce that Fatal Catch the twelfth in the DI Andy Horton crime series  has been published in the UK in hardcover by Severn House Publishers. (28 September 2015).

For those of you in America you'll have to wait a little longer before you can get your hands on a copy but not too long as Fatal Catch will be released as an ebook and available on Kindle from 20 December ( the perfect Christmas present - dare I say)  and it will be published in hardcover in the USA on the 1 January 2016

In Fatal Catch  Horton is called out to examine a gruesome find by two fishermen: a human hand. Is it that of missing violent criminal Alfie Wright – or is he the killer? And where is the rest of the corpse? Soon Horton finds himself immersed in a complex case where everyone has a reason to lie and no one is who they seem. Assailed by doubts both in his personal and professional life,Horton desperately tries to keep his emotional feelings under control and his focus on his work. His instincts tell him to trust no one and believe nothing; he’s not sure though whether this time he’ll succeed …

Fatal Catch  is available from all good book retailers and for loan in UK and USA libraries.

Talks and interviews

On Thursday 1 October I will be talking about crime writing and my crime novels to members of Stubbington U3A. I'll be posting photographs from my talk on this website next week.

Towards the end of October I'll be appearing on a panel at CSI Southampton.  I'll be joining fellow crime author Natasha Cooper at CSI Southampton on Saturday 24 October at Southampton Central Library with real life crime experts.

Crime Author Pauline Rowson on the Panel at CSI Winchester The morning session kicks off with a panel where myself and Natasha Cooper will be debating with crime scene experts from Hampshire Police, Carolyn Lovell Head of Crime Scene Investigation Management, and Jane Aston Fingerprint Bureau Supervisor, just how crime fiction differs from crime fact. There will also be the chance for you to ask your questions of the panel and to have your fingerprints pressed into a keep-sake key ring to take away.

In the afternoon crime author Peter Lovesey will discuss how a decent law abiding man can think up 200 ways of murdering people, followed by crime authors Jessie Keane and Sue Wilkins in discussion with Penny Legg on how they create their crime novels. There’ll be book signings and the chance to mingle with both crime authors and crime experts.
