An enthusiastic audience greets crime author Pauline Rowson at Yate Library

Yate is famous these days as being the birthplace of J. K. Rowling although strictly speaking she was born in Chipping Sodbury Maternity Hospital on the outskirts of Yate. Once a market town Yate, in the 1960s, became a booming new town with a massive housing development, a large retail shopping area, sports and leisure complex together with public buildings, including the library, which has recently had a major make over and is a very impressive and vibrant building.


I hope that my talks can resume in 2021.
