Entertaining the ladies of Southampton Tangent Club with tales of crime

Pauline Rowson lunch time guest speaker talking about her crime novels to members of Southampton Tangent ClubOn this day in 2015 I was delighted to be the lunchtime guest speaker at the Southampton branch of the National Association of Tangent. It was bitterly cold and the Covid-19 pandemic had not reared its ugly head.  It was imaginable then that lunches such as this would become impossible in 2020 and at the time of writing still impossible. In the absence of me being able to give talks to groups I've been spending time looking back over the ones I've given, hoping that towards the end of 2021 and in  2022 my talks can resume.

Pauline Rowson talking about her crime novels to members of Southampton Tangent ClubAfter a two course lunch at the Keats Restaurant, Ampfield, near Romsey in Hampshire I entertained the audience with tales of my crime heroes and especially the exploits of my rugged and flawed detective DI Andy Horton.  This was followed by a question and answer session and a book signing.

Pauline Rowson talking to audience at Southampton Tangent Club about her crime novelsI explained how I write my crime novels, showing examples of my plot lines, and character sketches and I explained where I draw my inspiration from which is primarily locations along the South Coast of England and in DI Andy Horton's case is Portsmouth and surrounding area and the Isle of Wight.

Pauline Rowson explaining how she writes her crime novels to members of Southampton Tangent ClubThere are now fifteen in the DI Andy Horton series.

The National Tangent Association is a member of the Round Table family. I've spoken to other Tangent groups and always enjoy them.

I give an insight into the world of crime writing; how I plot, research and write my internationally acclaimed mystery and thriller novels; the inspiration behind my fictional sleuths - DI Andy Horton (15), Art Marvik (4) and my 1950 set Scotland Yard detective, Inspector Ryga (2)

I give talks to many organisations, including U3As, Womens Institutes, Probus Clubs, charities, retirement associations, libraries and others.

If you would like to book me to give a talk please Contact me.
