On location with Marvik in mystery thriller LOST VOYAGE

Lost Voyage a Marvik mystery thriller by Pauline RowsonLOST VOYAGE is the third Marvik mystery thriller. Former Royal Marine Commando, Special Boat Services Officer, Marvik is now an undercover investigator for the UK's National Intelligence Marine Squad. Like the others in the Marvik mystery thriller series, SILENT RUNNING (1) DANGEROUS CARGO (2) and DEAD SEA (4) it is set against the backdrop of the sea.

In LOST VOYAGE Marvik's mission takes him along the south coast of England to the Severn Sisters cliffs, Beachy Head and the coastal towns of Newhaven and Eastbourne.

Here are some photographs taken when I was on location research while writing Lost Voyage.

Looking down into Birling Gap and Seven SistersIn the third in the series, Art Marvik, former Royal Marine Commando,  now undercover investigator, is surprised by a late-night summons to meet Helen Shannon, a woman he helped on his first mission. (SILENT RUNNING).

Marvik sets off on his powerful motorboat from the Isle of Wight for East Sussex to assist Helen.

Coming into NewhavenWhen a body is found in her flat in Eastbourne, Marvik is convinced that Helen is being framed for murder. Before he has time to follow this up he is called in to investigate the disappearance in 2003 of a salvage vessel called the Mary Jo. Soon it becomes clear that Helen and others are in danger from a ruthless assassin, one who is determined to protect the secret of the Mary Jo's last voyage.

The Severn Sisters CliffsMarvik's investigations subsequently take him over the South Downs to the Birling Gap and the Seven Sisters chalk downs in his bid to track down the killer and discover the secret of the Mary Jo.

Newhaven Marina, East SussexHe also travels by boat to the nearby working port of Newhaven, where he moors up in Newhaven Marina.

I enjoyed my two days crime fiction location research in East Sussex. I hope you enjoy reading the fruits of my research in LOST VOYAGE.
