Bognor Regis Library, crime writing and research

Pauline Rowson talking about her crime novels Bognor Regis LibraryBack in the dim and distant past of 2014, long before the Coronavirus pandemic struck in 2020 and all social gatherings like these were banned, I was delighted to talk to a lovely audience at Bognor Regis Library on 20 May, combining my visit and talk at Bognor with some research for Marvik mystery thriller SILENT RUNNING number one in the now series of four with DANGEROUS CARGO no. 2, LOST VOYAGE no. 3 and DEAD SEA no. 4, all set against the backdrop of the sea along the south coast of England.

Here is a snapshot of SILENT RUNNING, you'll need to read the book to find out why Marvik is in Bognor Regis!

Silent Running an Art Marvik mystery by Pauline RowsonIn his first undercover investigation for the UK’s Police National Intelligence Marine Squad, former Royal Marine Commando, Art Marvik finds himself on the hunt for the truth behind a fifteen year old murder in which an innocent man was convicted.

"A likeable, smart, tough, but alltoo human hero. A tense, terrifyingthrill ride that twists and turns with dizzying speed.A cracking-good new series - action fans need Marvik on their radar."Booklist

Pauline Rowson explaining how she writes her crime novels - Bognor Regis LibraryThe audience at Bognor Regis Library were very friendly and I was delighted to meet many die hard DI Andy Horton fans.

I know many people are missing these events and I am missing entertaining the lovely audiences. But the good news is that my first talk has been booked for 27 July 2021 when hopefully we are all out of these awful lock downs and can freely mix again.  On 27 July 2021 I will be entertaining members of Portsmouth U3A.

And for those of you who might be worrying that I’ve abandoned Andy Horton, do not fret, the enigmatic sailing detective  DI Andy Horton features in fifteen crime novels with TIDE OF DEATH the first in the series and A DEADLY WAKE number fifteen.  I am currently writing number sixteen ( 2021).

And since this talk took place I have created another crime series, this time set in the 1950s and featuring Scotland Yard detective, Inspector Ryga, who is sent out to solve  baffling coastal crimes. The first is set on Portland Island, Dorset - DEATH IN THE COVE, and the second is set in Newhaven, East Sussex - DEATH IN THE HARBOUR.  Number three in the Inspector Ryga series DEATH IN THE NETS set in Brixham, Devon will be published on 4 October 2021.
