What's on in June 2021
In June I'll be featuring the DI Andy Horton novel DEATH LIES BENEATH because this Andy Horton, number eight in the series of fifteen, is set in the month of June.
A body found on a rotting boat being salvaged in Portsmouth Harbour throws Horton into a complex and frustrating investigation.
As the tension mounts to solve the case, Horton receives a chilling message; time, it seems, is also running out for him personally…
"A fast paced excellent mystery, with an interesting diverse set of characters, and an intriguing hook at the end that has me eagerly awaiting the next installment in this series. Highly recommended." Mystery PeopleWhen ex con, Daryl Woodley is found dead on the marshes bordering Langstone Harbour the Intelligence Directorate believe his murder is linked to big time crook Marty Stapleton currently serving time in prison. DI Horton is not so sure. He attends Woodley’s funeral in the hope it will give them a lead in an investigation that has drawn a blank at every turn. It does but not in the way he or anyone expected. Working on DI Andy Horton number sixteen
I have now finished the sixth revision of DI Andy Horton number sixteen, which has been progressing well. I thought that number fifteen, A DEADLY WAKE, would be the final Horton but - due to popular demand and because I can't leave Andy alone!!!- I just had to get him embroiled in a new investigation. It usually takes me eight revisions before I am happy with a novel, so only another two to go. However, I have set it aside for a month, maybe two, so that I can come back fresh to it and therefore spot any plot holes. I am hoping that Andy Horton 16 will be published in Spring 2022.
And beginning to write Inspector Ryga number four
While setting aside Andy (that is if I can keep my hands off him!) I'm beginning to flesh out the idea and plot and location for my thoughtful and atmospheric Inspector Ryga number four mystery, which is set in March 1951. The third Inspector Ryga DEATH IN THE NETS will be published in paperback, ebook and on Amazon Kindle on 4 October 2021 and is available for pre-order.

So, plenty of writing on the cards for me in June in addition to research and walks. No talks or public engagements but fingers crossed that my first one since the lock down started in March 2020 will go ahead for 27 July 2021.
