A fabulous turn out at Warsash U3A for murder, mystery and mayhem

I was delighted to entertain a lively and enthusiastic audience at Warsash U3A on Friday 11 March when I talked about how I research, plot and write my crime novels all set against the backdrop of the sea.

I also explained how I get my ideas, which primarily come from locations.  I'm always on the look out for a good place to put a body.

My DI Andy Horton, Solent Murder Mysteries (15) are set in the Portsmouth and Isle of Wight area on the south coast of England; my Art Marvik mystery thrillers (4) are set around Southampton, the Dorset and East Sussex coast, and my 1950s set Inspector Ryga mysteries (3) are set in Dorset, east Sussex and Devon to date. 

There were plenty of questions following my talk and after this a book signing and chance to chat to people over a cup of tea and biscuit.

Warsash is in South Hampshire and sits at the mouth of the River Hamble.
